Position Overview:

The Vice President of Finance will play a pivotal role in enhancing and advancing the financial operations of the organization including all aspects of Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Finance will drive the continued success and growth of the Company by refining financial processes, providing strategic financial guidance, and leading a high-performing team. This is an in-the-office job in Tampa, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Lead all accounting and finance functions including financial reporting and compliance, payroll, accounts payable, billing and related accounts receivable, capital assets, financial planning and analysis as well as treasury. 
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, managing both direct and indirect reports, while improving department processes, efficiencies and deliverables. 
  • Manage and support the financial close process ensuring the integrity of consolidated financial reporting, monthly variance reports, and internal financial statements.
  • Managing the annual fiscal year-end audit to ensure it is completed on time and without adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the executive team regarding financial matters and help to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to support business growth and profitability.
  • Assess organizational performance against both the prior year’s results, the annual budget, and the company’s long-term strategy.
  • Update 5-year plan in alignment with the company’s long-term strategic plans.
  • Analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance and provide actionable recommendations to improve performance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the business.
  • Assist in building complex financial statement models including the balance sheet, P&L and statement of cash flows.  
  • Assist in the preparation of concise monthly and quarterly Board decks and related financial commentary. 
  • Identify KPIs to measure business performance and benchmark versus industry. 
  • Partner with department leaders to assist in the preparation of business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions.

Treasury:

  • Support all areas of the treasury function including cash management, treasury operations, debit compliance, capital structure, banking partnerships, risk management, etc.
  • Enhance treasury related data analytics, KPI’s, metrics, dashboards, etc. to support strategic decision making. 
  • Monitor and provide oversight of overall liquidity and debt compliance to optimize cash flow management. 
  • Drive working capital and capex optimization across the organization.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline. 
  • CPA and / or MBA preferred.
  • At least 15 – 20 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role and with progressive leadership experience.
  • Deep knowledge of financial management, including budget and forecasting, financial reporting, debt compliance and generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP). 
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to make strategic decisions based on financial insights.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style that fosters an inclusive work environment, promotes open communication, and empowers teams.
  • The ability to influence at all organizational levels and act as a change agent within a culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • A demonstrated ability to act with integrity, accountability, and passion.
